WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the verbal (every word) and plenary (complete) inspiration of the Old and New Testaments (66 books); that they are the final authority for all aspects of faith and practice, inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions shall be tried. (REF: II Tim 3:15-17; Psalms 119:160; II Peter 1:20-21: Revelation 22:18-19 and Psalms 12:6-7)
The Person and Work of God the Father
We believe there is one and only one living and true God. The all loving Creator, an infinite Spirit (having no beginning or ending), the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; perfect in every way, Holy, omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (present everywhere), omnipotent (all powerful) and worthy of all possible honor, praise, confidence and love (I Corinthians 8:6; Exodus 20:2-3; I John 5:7; Psalms 90:2; Genesis 1:1-2; John 3:16; and Revelation 4:11)
The Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, perfect God and perfect man; that He is God manifested in flesh, conceived by the Holy Ghost, and born of a virgin. We believe that He lived a sinless life; that He died willingly on
(Isaiah 7:14; II Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 1:23; I Peter 1:18-19; Isaiah 9:6; Luke 3:21-22; Romans 8:34)
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine member of the Trinity with the Father and the Son, and of the same nature. We believe that He was active in the creation; He convicts of sin, that He bears witness to the Truth of the Gospel. We also believe that He fully indwells and empowers the believer at the moment of salvation. He seals, comforts, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, bestows gifts and helps the believer manifest the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance). ( Galatians 5:22-23; Genesis 1:1-3; Matthew 28:19;Mark 1:8; John 14:16-17; John 14:26; John 16:8-11; Romans 8:14, 16, 26; Ephesians 1:13-14; John 16:7-8; Romans 8:14, 16,26; Acts 1:8)
The Trinity
We believe in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (I John 5:7)
The Devil
We believe that the Devil, or Satan, is a fallen angel, author of sin, cause of the fall, “god of this age”, prince of the power of the air, great deceiver, father of lies, and the openly declared enemy of God and man. We believe his destiny is eternal punishment in the
The Creation and Fall of Man
We believe that man was created by God and not by any evolutionary process. Man was created in God’s own image and in a state of innocence; that through his transgression sin entered into the world; and death by sin: not only physical death but spiritual death also, which is conscious and eternal separation from God. Man inherited a sinful nature, being born in sin and under its condemnation. (Genesis 3:6-19; Genesis 2:7; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10; Jeremiah 17:9)
Salvation
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ “died for our sins according to the scriptures”; that a person is saved when he repents from his sin and exercises faith by accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior; acknowledging that salvation is a gift freely available to all, and is wholly by the grace of God with out any merit or works; God desires all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth. His will that none should perish, but that all should come to repentance and a saving
knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is the gift of God; once accepted it can never be taken away, lost and is everlasting.
(John 3:15-16; Romans 10:13; John 10:27-29; I John 5:11-13; I Peter 1:4-5)
Sanctification
We believe that born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, have been sanctified (set apart as a vessel of honor, pure, and Christ-like; striving unto holiness) through the finished work of Jesus Christ’s atonement on the cross. Sanctification is a divine and progressive work of the Holy Spirit, in which the believer is set apart unto service and obedience of the Truth. We believe that sanctification ends ultimately in the perfecting of our faith and the glorification of our body in Heaven. (II Timothy 2:21; Hebrews 13:12; I Peter 1:2; I Corinthians 1:30; I Thessalonians 4:3-4; John 17:17, 19)
The Church
We believe that the local New Testament church is to be composed of born again, scripturally baptized believers, sensing God’s call to voluntarily unite together for the purpose of worship, discipleship, evangelism, ministry, edification, fellowship, and keeping the ordinances. The mission of the church body is to carry out the great commission and the great commandments of Jesus Christ, who is the only head of the church, who works through the Holy Spirit as He guides and provides for His church. The local church is autonomous, having the right to self government and conduct their own affairs in accordance with the teaching of the Word of God. (Acts 2:41-47, Ephesians 1:22-23, Acts 20:28-31, Matthew 16:18; Matthew 22:37-40; Matthew 28:18-20; Hebrews 10:25)
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
We believe that scriptural baptism is the immersion in water of a professing believer, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Baptism is a beautiful symbol of our association with the death, burial, and resurrection of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism is an act of obedience, to demonstrate the believer’s submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in his life. (Mark 1:9-11; Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:36-39)
We believe the Lord’s Supper was commanded by our Lord, commemorating the new covenant in our Lord’s shed blood and broken body which He willing laid down as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. The Lord’s Supper is offered to church members, and visitors of like faith and practice, that have completed a solemn self examination, and repented of sin. (Matthew 26:26-28; I Corinthians 11:26-30; Acts 2:41-42)
The Lord’s Day
We believe that the first day of the week is the Lord’s Day, which commemorates his resurrection and should be kept sacred. (Acts 20:7; Psalms 118:24; Hebrews 10:24-25)
Hell
We believe in a literal, burning Hell, and that the lake of fire and brimstone shall be the place of eternal punishment, and separation from God, for Satan, the fallen angels, demons, and the unbelieving who have died having rejecting the gospel of Jesus Christ. (Mark 9:42-48; Luke 16:22-26; Revelation 20:12-15; Revelation 21:8)
Heaven
We believe in an actual place called Heaven where God the Father, and His angels reside; and where those, who through faith in Jesus Christ, will ultimately and eternally dwell. We believe it is from Heaven that Christ came, and to Heaven Christ ascended after He completed His earthly ministry. We believe it is in Heaven that Christ makes intercession for the saints, and from Heaven he shall come to judge the
living and the dead. (John 14:1-3; Revelation 21)
The second coming of Christ
We believe in the bodily, personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ in the air to catch away all born again believers unto himself before the start of the tribulations period. We also believe in His personal, visible and glorious return to the earth with His Saints, after the tribulation period, to judge the nations and set up His millennial Kingdom on earth. (Acts 1:11; John 13:3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 24:42-44)
